GP By Department Report

The GP By Department Report displays stock, purchases, sales, wastage, transfers, and GP values by department for the selected audit period. It is used to review department profitability, operational performance, and stock or cost variances.

Steps:

1. Select “Reports”

2. Select “GP By Department”

3. Select the relevant “Period”

4. Review the report data:

- Department Name

- Closing Stock

- Opening Stock

- Purchases

- Wastage

- Sales

- Transfers

- Cost of Sales

- GP Value

- Gross Profit %

5. Review the Department Totals

6. Review the overall Grand Total

7. Use:

- Export to PDF to download a PDF version of the report

- Export to Excel to download the report in Excel format

Note:

• The report groups financial and inventory performance by department for the selected audit period.

• Cost of Sales is calculated using stock movement, purchases, wastage, and transfers.

• GP Value displays the calculated gross profit amount for each department.

• Gross Profit % displays the profitability percentage based on sales and cost of sales data.

• Positive and negative values may indicate operational gains or losses within a

department.

• Department Totals and Grand Totals provide a consolidated financial summary across all departments.

• This report can be used to monitor profitability, analyse stock efficiency, and support financial decision-making.
